Who makes the best ice cream

I love pistachio. Unfortunately, for some reason, it's not really sold in Germany (packaged that is, ice cream parlors do have it). I've been told it is because the quality requirements are to high and there are not enough pistachios of proper quality on the European market, but I don't really know if that's true. I'd be interested to hear about the situation in other European countries.

As for brands, anything with a name goes.

I have a favorite resturant called the East Coast Grill which specializes in simple preparations with fresh food and LOTS of spices.

A couple times a year they thrown an event called Hell Night where they really go overboard with the chillis. I really like hot food, but I'll NEVER touch the "Pasta from Hell" again. (Last time I was trying to phsyically scrape the food from my tounge).

In any case, the East Coast Grill is located next door from Toscanini's icream cream. And Toscis always helps out with a lovely choclate chilli icecream. Big bowl of that with some blueberries really hits the spot.

The best ice cream:

In the US its generally found in Boston. My personal favorite there is Christinas, But Herrel's, Toscinini's, Jp licks, etc. all get votes from someone.

I am pretty fond of Italian Gelato, although its not exactly ice cream, and I don't know where to get the best gelato.... (I did have some great gelato in verona years ago...)

We have a bar-restaurant at uni who, from time to time, offer an extra-hot pizza for free if you manage to eat it entirely ;-).

Yes, in general I've found that New England has some amazing ice cream. Especially at little ice cream stands sort of standing around in the middle of no where.

The best ice cream I've had is from andersons of denmark. Is that a famous brand? I miss it sooooooooo

Never heard about it. And if it's from Denmark, it's likely Andersen. Andersson is a Swedish name.

Italian gelato for me too, and vanilla flavour please.

I have a strange philosophy here.

I look at ice cream, sort of like I do wine. Its somewhat dependent on the atmosphere and environment that its being consumed.

I took my family to Rosarito Beach in 1999, after I had been laid off. We had very little money, but the kids were younger and we wanted to do something special and put the trip on the card. We found a condo on the beach for next to nothing. The trip consisted of trips to Puerto Nuevo for cheap lobster dinners and trips to a Palleteria for bizarre ice cream. In Mexico, they have some really oddball ideas (to me anyway) for ice cream (even moreso than the Chinese); flavors like Garlic, Chili, etc.. They also had some in the case called Day of the Dead that I didn't try.

Because this was such a cool memory for me, this was the best ice cream I've ever had.
