cherdano
candybar started a good list in another thread, but I think it is worth it's own thread. I think his list is good, but I will give my own list with my own preferences here. I am only an occasional TD, but some things are annoying enough that I wonder why the regular TDs are not complaining about this more: 1. Make it possible to defer TD calls until you have time to deal with it. Currently, running a 40 table tourney alone is usually not a problem -- unless you happen to get 3-4 TD calls in quick succession. Being able to deal with them one at a time would smooth things considerably, i.e. there should be a list of pending director calls available. 2. Make it easily possible to look up all unfinished boards of the last round. Players don't always call for adjustments about unfinished boards, but if you want to be serious about the tourney you should really do them. 3. A "chat to all TDs" option, both for players and for TDs. 4. An easier way to add time just for the current round. 5. Make it possible to see complete travellers. I think 1. and 2. would be extremely useful, everything else is far less important. sceptic
Currently, running a 40 table tourney alone is usually not a problem -- unless you happen to get 3-4 TD calls in quick succession I think a lot of TD's make this mistake, just because it is easy to run a tourney occasionally with 1TD and 60 tables, they then think, that, 1 TD managing 40 tables is ok, you really should work on a lower ratio of tables (in my humble opinion), I think ur sugestions have been made before and nothing has happened (for what ever reason) an easy way to manage this issue is to use pen and paper, just write the name and table no down clear all boxes and ask each what the issue is, that way you can prioritise your time better
sceptic
4. An easier way to add time just for the current round sorry about this, but what is hard about doing it as it stands?
hotShot
4. An easier way to add time just for the current round sorry about this, but what is hard about doing it as it stands? Now you change the time for all rounds, if you decide to add a minute, you have to remove it when the round changes. But usually you get lots of TD calls, about unfinished boards than....Those TD calls pop up in dialog boxes that get the active window. So no matter what you are just typing or doing is interrupted, and each key you presseed is send to this dialog box. If e.g. you happend to press enter so compleat a message to a player, the enter is send to the TD call dialog. This causes you to move to another table and your message is incompleat and unsend. Every message to the TD at the other table is lost, and at the new table the player who called you is upset, because you ignored him .... and left immediatelly. By the way if you happen to notice the table number you can get back later otherwise you lost the TD call. Clear enough?Oh yes i have to set the round clock back ....
