rbforster Posted April 5, 2006 Report Share Posted April 5, 2006 Maybe you mean relays, rather than transfers? Most of the suits have already been bid, afterall. As for a "transfer" type relay system instead of the XYZ relays, I'm not sure I see the advantage. Maybe with transfers you can contrive to get 2/3NT played by partner if you want to, but it seems that might be a decision best left to partner's discretion. Oh, and in your example, what if I want to naturally raise partner to 2♠? Do I have to bid 2♣ to get there, allowing the opponents a chance to double it to suggest competiting in clubs? We have 3 suits and I rebid one of the suits by bidding the suit below it, i.e. to support ♦ I bid 2♣, to support ♠ I bid 2♥. 2♠ would ask for a ♣ stopper then.
