P_Marlowe
Hi, 3H. It is unclear, if we can make 10 tricks,so an inv. is enough, at least for me. If I dont want to force to game, I have no chance to introduce spade via 3S, so 3H it is, if you want to force to game => 3S. With kind regardsMarlowe
whereagles
Well, I don't like the looks of this misfit and thus bid only 2♥.
42
4 was cold, partner held♠ KQx♥ x♦ Qxxxx♣ AQxx,♣K and ♥A were onside. Opp found a clearsighted tricky lead: small under the ♠A, his partner came in with ♥A, played a ♠ back and got a ♠ ruff. Our teammates complained that we lost 1 IMP, their opps made "easily" 200... *grmpf* Later in the train we discussed the hand and an expert said that one should always bid 4♥, such hands make most often. Nothing is lost when there exists a (better) ♠ fit because it is the working suit, the ♥ suit in itself is strong enough. Do you like those arguments? Gerben42
I would have bid 3♥ to be honest and hope partner can stick in a fourth.

Codo
If you want to play game anyway, you should rebid 3 Spade, not 4 Heart.I think, this showed these kind of hands in the old days.Else, you should bid 2 Spade and reach 4 Spade to win several imps.... I chose the GF approach and 4 Spade looks safe to me.
