Free
3NT can be right, 23+ HCP together, and hopefully a double stop in H: 9 Dbl (responsive) is awfull! You don't have Spades and what do you bid when partner answers with 4S? Dbl: 2 Pass: safe, but you need to go for Game when you're vulnerable. 4 I bid 3NT... Poky
I think classic responsive double should deny spades and show at least 4-4 minor pattern with enough values... Am I wrong? Poky
Free
Maybe you're wrong, maybe not. In my region I play this as "p, you chose", so it's rather a 4-1-4-4 so partner can descide which suit he likes the most... Free
jjsb
double , that should show the minor . the problem is for sure i would prefere to be 3244 or better 4144 but i think it's the most flexible bid regardssyl

So if u want to play, bid 3n. Responsive dbl here is wrong, pd will play, whatever it is, east will lead h through ur hand,
the hog
At Imps at this Vul, 3N
mikestar
Under these conditions, 3NT. If you have a game it is NT and you need to play it from your side. If your hearts were Axx, the responsive double looks better if your partnership plays it to show the minors.
mishovnbg
Hi all! 3NT is normal bid, based on simple strategy of "less lose" when gathering of more information is impossible, how in example. Pass is normally losing way to play. But here is very difficulte to decide in my opinion. Even we have 26HCP there are several bad news about 3NT: 1. xx in SP show some length in this suit in p. As he didnt made overcall, he have probably 4 cards. 3HE raise is probably made with hope to defend 4SP and SP suit is bad. 2. HE stoppers seems like 2 times, but after HE lead will be probably hard to avoid W to take no trick. 3. Probably lack of playable suit, because our fit is look like in CL. DBL: I play this bid as response dbl without stop for NT. P can pass, if he also dont have stop and is not short in HE. My choice will be DBL. Can lose against makeable 3NT, but most of time will gain 300 or 500 instead of score, esp with new time pre-empt raises B). Misho

PokyY are right :), but I still opt for 3 NT. I rather play game at 3 level then 5 level. Who knows I mite make one :) Mike ;D
