Badmonster
Are inverted minors on over a intervening bid?A double? Is it common for them to be on or off by agreement? Without discussion what is common?
luis
The most common treatment is that they are OFF when they overcall 1 of a minor. Using the cuebid as a limit raise or better. When they double I have seen very different ideas so I would say it depends on agreements, simple people like to keep the same system ignoring the double, fancy people add a ton of transfers and gizmos when they double. inquiry
They are most certainly off after a double (or should be). In competiton they are not as needed, as you have cue-bid and double available, so generally most people play them off there as well. But at least a minority of players leave them on. I treat minor suit raises sort of differently in competition (with dlb or not). The jump raise is always weak but shows some values. The simple raise is based on normal, no preemptive values, 2NT I use as either a blizzard weak raise (weaker than the jump raise) or authentic true game force. Cue-bid if available is limit raise. cherdano
I would claim standard is that they are off both after overcall and double. After overcall, cue-bid is the limit raise (or better), and after double, Jordan 2NT seems to be standard. Unfortunately, transfers after double aren't standard yet :)
keylime
Inverted minors, definitely off over interference. That's relatively standard expert fare. Now, bidding over interference with a minor - there's the cuebid raise, the good/bad 2NT raise, dual meaning transfers...you name it, it exists!
