han
[hv=d=n&v=b&n=s10xxxhxdxxckqxxxx&s=saqjxxxhxxxdqxxca]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] The bidding went: p-p-1S-2H3C*-3H-p-4H4S-p-p-5Hall pass 3C by agreement showed spade support, 4C would be a support jump shift. What do you think about 3C, 4S, and the final pass? [i will give the EW hands later]
Echognome
I don't understand the bidding plan. If you bid 3♣ that's fine, but then you should leave the final decision to partner. I am sure that I'm biased by knowing the hands, but I think a direct 4♠ has a lot going for it. Don't let your LHO in cheaply.
hatchett
I don't like 3♣. I would have either bid 4♣ or 4♠. I think 4♠ forcing them to guess at the 5 level has a lot going for it. It would be very undisciplined to bid over 5♥ in front of partner, if you think it's right to do so there is something very wrong with your bidding to date. Codo
I would like 3 ♣ onlyfor hands, where you bleive, that the hand is yours and opps. won´t bid too much. This is not the hand for it.This is a hand for a preempt to 4 Spade. I had not passed 3 Heart and bid 4 Spade with openers hand directly too.I think, that the bidding did not work well, but I had passed 5 Heart in both seats. whereagles
Given the opening was 3rd seat 3♣ is fair, though the optimist's bid of 4♠ comes to mind. I don't understand why South didn't bid on, nor why North, with virtually nothing more to show than what he already showed, press on to 4. I guess that North knows South underbids, so he bid one more for the road :o
