uday
You can type a username into the area where you select a username in the chat window. That is: click chat buttonsmall chat window pops upclick in the area to the right of 'chat to:', overtyping 'Lobby' or whatever.type in the recepients usernametype/send message as usual

rona_
I haven't figured out yet what it does now that it didn't do before. Has anything changed?
uday
it now allows you to specify the recepient of a private chat by typing his username (as opposed to the usual left-click-on-recepient)
Kaapo
There's a bug there: If you type in a nick and the recipient logs off and on again, your message goes to a wrong person. If you typed the nick, BBO does not alert you of the logging off of the person as it does, if you had clicked on the person's nick to open chat. In fact this is something I quite like. I've lost too many messages bacause of that alert box popping up!
