hrothgar
I was looking at Ben's latest posting on Misery and was interested to note that BridgeBrowser displays descriptions about the meaning of Alert sequences. Couple quick questions: 1. Do alert strings get stored in the LIN file along with the rest of the hand records?2. Does this system incorporate information from FD or "just" written alert strings? pigpenz
you must mean something other than bridge browser? a version of bridgebrowser is available for people who play in homebase clubs. You must mean the FD or Full Discloser editor

I'm curious where this information came from
uday
We send a feed of hands to BRBR approx monthly. These hands contain everything in myhands (no FD-related info but traditional info is included).
inquiry
Hi richard, FD comments/alerts are not shown. As far as table alerts, the last text typed into the alert box is what is left in the record. If you alert 2D as weak 2 in major or... and then later type balanced 20-22. What will show up is Balanced 20-22. Often the alert is described as "self alert" or "no information available". I think self alert shows up in bridgebrowser when the alert field contains nothing. The other is when someone clicks the bid a couple of times and nothing shows up. And yes. alert strings are stored in lin files.. just open myhands and take a look, you will find many alerts.
