2 - 3 - 3 - 4

4 - x - ?

2 = 8-10, (5)6+

I know we have ten spades so I tested the second fit, so I know whether we should bid on 5th level. Does this make sence? What would you bid?

Hi,

4S, that's what you intended to bid.

A direct 4S would have made it a bit

harder for them, but you found the dbl.

fit, now it is time to tell partner about it.

Bidding 4S direct or delayed is a tactical

question, both approaches can work out

perfect or leave you guessing in the end.

With kind regards

Marlowe

A 4 now looks like a Transfer to 5 of a minor from an opponent.

Do I wish to play that?

When I declined to bid 4/5 Spade direct ( I had not), I think that not showing the double fit to the opps is making it more difficult for opps to react. I doubt, that this information is of any use to partner.

I Pass. Maybe everyone will. If not I bid 5. Redouble is just a transfer to 5m.

BTW I expect this to be +690 not +590, but who knows bad breaks and all might kill the overtrick (maybe just the 2nd one though).
