chrissie
I have just spent three nights trying unsuccessfully to play bridge online. Despite using all the suggested methods from the reply to my "help" e-mail' nothing works...even installing the special software designed to bypass my pop up blocker software, although that says it is now disabled. While it allows me to see tournament hands etc, - thru the setting up of a new name and password - it still will not let me log on to play bridge online now insisting that the new name and password accepted three minutes before are invalid!I am about to give up or throw the computer thru the window!!!Please if anyone out there has had this problem and found the solution can u help...at least I can read the forum! inquiry
chrissie. there are lots of reasons people can't play bridge on line. some involve punishment for booting too many players or leaving too many tables during play. Others are software related problems. I can look into some of these. Please send me your bbo nickname and i will see what i can do.
uday
Things to check 1. Make sure you are running the latest version of the software. When BBO starts up, the version number is displayed on the left hand side of the main screen. Current version is 4.5.7 You can get the latest version from http://online.bridgebase.com/ 2. What usernames have you managed to create? 3. The process of creating a new username is this- start bbo- click the large LOG IN button. A small screen will pop up.- click the small NEW MEMBER button. A "profile" screen will pop up.- fill out username and password. Select an unlikely username - something like chr921 or whatever. Make sure your password is simple, containing a-z only. Click OK- if all goes well, you will be logged in. If you see a screen that says "Connecting...." and nothing else, the most likely problem is that your PC is using a firewall that is blocking BBO from connecting to the internet 4. If you are connecting via satellite, use the experimental link at this sitehttp://online.bridgebase.com/doc/connect.php 5. If you are using a firewall (and if you are using Norton, Mcafee, etc as your antivirus, you probably are) you need to configure your firewall to allow c:\bridge base online\netbridgevu.exe to connect to the internet
