Banker's Hand Three

I'm somewhat concerned about being tapped. I'd pitch a club at trick one. If diamonds are continued, ruff and play off AK pitching a diamond. At this point I'll ruff a heart, hoping something good happens (either hearts 3-3 or the short hearts in front of dummy, or spades breaking, etc).

Playing a natural system, do you agree with the bidding?

The opening lead is the A.  Plan the play.

no, why am I bidding my shorter major first?

I would have just passed in first seat.

My answer would be "sorry partner, i had a heart mixed up as a diamond so I thought I was 5=5=1=2".

Pass is a viable alternative. I chose to bid this way and stand behind it, but I was curious if others thought this was a good/bad approach.

I am curious Mike how you plan to get to 4 on the actual hand after passing. I'll assume you have the auction to yourself.

I'm not totally convinced I want to be in game I am virtually certain I need 3-2, and probably 3-2 as well or 3-3 depending on which suit I play on, and if I play on , even then I might fail if both honors are offside.

I would bid playing 2/1

1 1NT

2 3

As to the bidding, while I am a big fan of opening 1S on min 5-6's, the spade suit is a bit thin for that here. I would actually pass the south hand (playing a std system) and hope to give a better description later. Playing a limited opening system, I guess have to open 1H or 1S and would probably open 1H and then reverse if not conventional.... I open about 90% of dog minimum 5=6's with the higher suit since I would rather show 9 or 10 cards than 6, but I just can't stand playing in a 5-2 with that spade suit....

A ruffed. I can't remember how I played it, but I remember ruffing the diamond and taking a losing spade finesse. I believe a spade was returned. I took the losing club finesse and eventually was able to set up clubs. EW never forced in diamonds. I don't think I took the best line, but I somehow chalked up 450.
