Probably you shouldn't have, with this weak spade suit, but you would end up in 4♠ anyway. What's your line? Arend
pclayton
I think I'll win the A♥ (good start), play a spade to the Ace, take my club pitch on the K♥ and play a ♦ to the J. If it loses, I can play a ♦ back to the 10 and a spade toward the Q-10. if it wins, I can cash the A♦ and ruff a ♦. Many good and many bad things can happen after this start. Curious to hear how others approach this hand.
Kalvan14
I think Phil line is a good one. The alternatives: after A♥, A♠, K♥, A & K♦ and diamond for a ruff; or start with A♥, A & K ♦ and diamond for a ruff. The finesse in diamonds convinces me more, though. I played diamonds from the top after ♥K, ruffing the 3rd round. This makes if diamonds are 3-3 and spades 3-2. I thought it also had good chances if LHO has two diamonds, but that seems an illusion, as I run out of control if LHO just refuses to ruff in front of dummy. Kalvan14
If the finesse wins, cash A and ruff a diamond. Now W cannot gain by refusing to ruff in front of dummy.
