mikeh
1) double 2) 'I WANT A NEW PARTNER!!!!!' I would raise to 4♥: that will teach him. Seriously, he should have something like Ax AKQJxxx Axx x or better for this sequence.

Echognome
I chose X then pass. I had a bit of AI from opponents though. They were chomping at the bit. Partner held: ♠K♥QT97642♦KQ632♣--- I decided however that my pass was a really bad bid. I had a clear 3NT/4♥ bid. Screw opps giving the ballgame away. Make partner pay! Mike had it right, except his partner was sane.
Finch
I would bid 3NT rather than 4H. If partner has solid hearts he can always pull. One interesting point: once we have volunteered a double of 2D showing values, shoud partner's pass of 3C be forcing? (My partner who is lying on the sofa watching cricket says no, but I'm not sure I completely agree)

(My partner who is lying on the sofa watching cricket says no, but I'm not sure I completely agree) I don't think so. I think the auction is akin to partner xing and you making a free bid of 2D and then them competing in clubs. E.G.1S-x-2C-2D3C-? You are not in a force here, and the x of 2D in the actual auction didn't show much more than the freebid of 2D did in this auction (maybe an extra 2 points?). Aus towards the end of the first innings because he said the second innings it would be a boring anti-climax. Lying was right...
