Lead at MPs

Assuming that your labels of LHO and RHO are confused. They may have an unprotected club control here.

Declarer (I'll assume thats really RHO) may have both aces, and even a tenace.

Don't lead a trump as it may cost if pard has Qxx, dumy, xxx, and declarer AKJxxx, because the percentatge play is for the drop.

Lead a club. Clubs may not break well for dummy. Dummy may only have 4

Also, since when does 2 show 6 trumps in 2/1? Then how do you bid with just 5 trumps? Bid a 2 card diamond suit? Or a 3 card Spade suit showing a Reverse? Or raise Clubs with 3?

I think this contract can be defeated.

Since the opponents on this board chose to play a method where a 2H rebid shows 6 hearts. Opponents aren't forced to play 2/1 the way you do.

(I play 1H-2C-2D as an artificial relay and 2H promising 6, for example)

The same card that I would lead at imps. An auction lke this, where opener has essentially driven to slam, is probably not going to be the field auction, and so the slam may be missed at many tables. This means that guarding against overtricks is largely irrelevant: our goal is to beat the contract, hence the need for the aggressive, out of turn lead. :)

J, tho justin is probably right.. hard to imagine pard will ruff a spade when the suit wasn't even mentioned (except in passing).. seems more likely pard wants a club led through

Then he should have Xed 5C.

West East

1 2

2 4

4 5

6 pass[/hv]

There wasn't any spade ruff coming, but spade was the good lead.

I was South. At table I had the feeling pard was going to make a natural, but disastrous, lead from Qxx or Kxx of diamonds, and therefore I should double. If anything it would cast doubt upon him.

I ended up not doubling because if things worked out wrong, pard would be upset. Obviously, pard duly lead... a diamond
