whereagles
Matchpoints, intermediate field, system: 2/1, you hold: ♠ 876532♥ T♦ KT84♣ J9 RHO LHO1♥ 2♣2♥ 4♥4♠ 5♣6♥ 2♣ was game forcing, 2♥ shows 6 hearts, 4♥ is fast arrival. Your lead?
joker_gib
If it's LHO who plays it is not my lead ! I think I have to be aggressive here so small ♦ Alain

Blofeld
♣J. Assuming that your labels of LHO and RHO are confused. They may have an unprotected club control here.
ArcLight
Declarer (I'll assume thats really RHO) may have both aces, and even a tenace.Don't lead a trump as it may cost if pard has Qxx, dumy, xxx, and declarer AKJxxx, because the percentatge play is for the drop. Lead a club. Clubs may not break well for dummy. Dummy may only have 4 Also, since when does 2♥ show 6 trumps in 2/1? Then how do you bid with just 5 trumps? Bid a 2 card diamond suit? Or a 3 card Spade suit showing a Reverse? Or raise Clubs with 3? I think this contract can be defeated.
Finch
Also, since when does 2♥ show 6 trumps in 2/1? Then how do you bid with just 5 trumps? Bid a 2 card diamond suit? Or a 3 card Spade suit showing a Reverse? Or raise Clubs with 3? Since the opponents on this board chose to play a method where a 2H rebid shows 6 hearts. Opponents aren't forced to play 2/1 the way you do. (I play 1H-2C-2D as an artificial relay and 2H promising 6, for example)
luis
Any card face down on the tableBecause it's not my lead.
Guest Jlall
Diamond. I want to set up a diamond trick and play partner for a heart or club card. If I don't, I'm worried they will take many club/heart/spade tricks.
mikeh
♦ The same card that I would lead at imps. An auction lke this, where opener has essentially driven to slam, is probably not going to be the field auction, and so the slam may be missed at many tables. This means that guarding against overtricks is largely irrelevant: our goal is to beat the contract, hence the need for the aggressive, out of turn lead. :)
whereagles
Fixed LHO/RHO labels, thx.
luis
I think a diamond is the only option here. Luis
whereagles
Allright, second part of the problem <_< What would you lead if pard doubled 6♥?
Guest Jlall
A spade. Presumably he'll ruff.
luke warm
♣J, tho justin is probably right.. hard to imagine pard will ruff a spade when the suit wasn't even mentioned (except in passing).. seems more likely pard wants a club led through

joker_gib
Allright, second part of the problem :D What would you lead if pard doubled 6♥? A spade in his void then... Alain
whereagles
Thx all, hands were [hv=d=w&v=n&n=s8xxxxxhtdktxxcj9&w=skqhaqxxxxdaxxcqx&e=sthj9xdqjxxcaktxx&s=saj9xhkxxdxxc8xxx]399|300|Scoring: MPWest East1♥ 2♣2♥ 4♥4♠ 5♣6♥ pass[/hv] There wasn't any spade ruff coming, but spade was the good lead. I was South. At table I had the feeling pard was going to make a natural, but disastrous, lead from Qxx or Kxx of diamonds, and therefore I should double. If anything it would cast doubt upon him. I ended up not doubling because if things worked out wrong, pard would be upset. Obviously, pard duly lead... a diamond
