Guest Jlall
Is it possible that GIB is playing standard carding in this version? It could be a random occurence of numerous falsecards, but from my first session on this version (only about 20 hands) gib seemed to use standard carding. One feature I think might be useful is the ability to see how many boards you've played. This would be useful for several obvious reasons. Also, support for higher stakes :) The gibs seem to have some eccentricities, but this is fine since both players have a gib pard so figuring out how to play with it is part of the game. I would like to reiterate my enthusiasm for this feature and thanks to BBO for bringing it about.
uday
Higher than $1/100 ? What're you thinking of, J? $2 ? 5 ?
Guest Jlall
Was thinking a nickel. I think there would be some demand, it's not ridiculously high or anything and is played in many home games.
fred
You can see how many deals you have played via the Movie window. In the top left corner the vulnerability graphic contains the number of the board you just played (this is new in 4.6.5). Standard carding is the default for GIB and I am pretty sure we are not overriding this (if we were before then it was not intentional). Guest Jlall
ah thanks fred. As for the carding, Uday gave this link: http://online.bridgebase.com/doc/gib_system_notes.php as gib's system profile. It said udca and was playing udca before (I'm almost positive). uday
OK, I've updated the link to say 'standard carding' - sorry for confusion.
Rain
I think GIB plays UDCA....I noticed that some time ago, that it likes suits I play low to....
hrothgar
As I recall, GIBs "carding" was erratic at best in the commercial version...
Rain
Do you guys have any example hands you have in mind? I tested fred's LTPB2. Example hand 3. GIB was using UDCA there. (I only know UDCA and Standard, I wouldn't know if GIB was doing odd/even) Example hand 4. GIB seemed to be using standard. Unless GIB was actually using odd/even. If my file, test.lin was attached, that's example hand 3 from LTPB2.test.lin
fred
I had a hand yesterday where I was defending against a suit contract with GIB as my partner. I was on lead with a suit headed by the Ace-King. GIB had a doubleton and played high-low. Guest Jlall
I also led from AK. Gib played low from xxx. LHO led the H8. Dummy hit with AKxxx. I played the ace and RHO(gib) played the 7 from QJ72. I had AJxx opp Kxx. I played ace and low to the king (safety play). RHO (gib) from xx played high low. I had more examples but I forgot.
