csarmi
I am quite upset right now. I've been working for more than an hour on my convention card. Then I go out for one minute and I find myself logged out for inactivity...Very funny... please fix this bug. This inactivity screen annoying in itself (sometimes I would really need to stay logged in without having to actually sit at the computer, there should be a checkbox for it or something (do not log me out)), but this one is clearly an unintended feature... Now I am not really sure whether I was asked before logout, but I'd bet I wasn't.
mink
Every user who is logged in BBO causes considerable traffic on the BBO server, even if he is idle completely. Therefore it makes much sense to log off an inactive player after some time. If you intend to work on a FD convention card for a longer period of time, I would recommend to open te FD application independently of BBO. It is called bidedit.exe and resides in the "Bridge Base Online" directory. Karl
sdoty
I think that particular issue has been addressed in the most recent version (4.6.5): "Version 1.2.4 of FD is included in this release. The only change here is that, if you exit BBO without saving your file, a temporary file will be created. The next time you log in and go into Work Convention Card, the temporary file will be opened (and you will receive a warning that you need to save the file if you want to use it)." Karl's suggestion will also prevent a repeat incident. Susan
csarmi
Still, I don't think that editing your CC should be regarded as inactivity.
Dwingo
You dont need to be online to edit your FD CC files. Always better to do this Offline.
csarmi
You dont need to be online to edit your FD CC files. Always better to do this Offline. Probably. So what?! OK, thanks for the suggestions, but still, I think it's a problem. It shouldn't be like that.
sdoty
I understand your frustration -- I've accidentally lost work too, and it's awful. :P As I mentioned above, the new release already includes a feature where, if you log out without saving your cc, it is automatically saved for you. So it seems that they have already solved the problem you're unhappy about, and it will be go into effect for everyone when we change over to the next version of BBO.
