Wsue601
I've been studying this tutorial. How bout you? I've yet to find the courage to jump into any bbo games. BUT would feel comfortable playing with others that are also learning from this tutorial. Perhaps there's a way for nervous beginners like me to get together at a table and practice Fred's lessons. Anybody interested? I'm at Eastern Standard Time--I figure that will be important when scheduling. SueW
bestguru
After reading Kiwi's rant in another thread I got to thinking that I should really start over and go back to basics. I can't claim to be a great player but I can garauntee being very tolerant of mistakes and being more than willing to discuss any questionable bids. Let me know if you'd like to give it a go. I am also in EST. I'm in the process of switching to a new schedule, so 6:00 am to 8:30 am would be best for me but I might be a braindead mess at that time for a while. I can also do evenings up through 11 or 12 pm, but less often and reliably.
Guest Jlall
Practice makes perfect :) Don't be afraid to jump into a game with others, they won't bite! :)
han
Err, some will bite a bit, but most won't. :) Try the BIL on bridgebase, a club for beginning and intermediate players. I hear it's nice there.
sdoty
Hi Sue, welcome! :-) There are friendly players in all areas of BBO, but to echo Hannie's comment, I also would recommend 'getting your feet wet' in the Beg/Int Lounge. A lovely woman named Nada (her bbo name is "hope") and several other volunteers host special help tables in the Lounge, especially for players new to BBO, on Sundays from 4:00-5:00 pm EST. There's no teaching: it's just a chance to take a seat, play through a few hands to see how everything works, ask questions and meet some other new players.
