Walddk
As a follow-up to the thread on the Camrose Trophy from Wales (March 3-5), I can now confirm the following: 1. The broadcast will go ahead.2. So will the Japanese Open Team Trials.3. Altogether we will be having 48 hours of non-stop vugraph.4. Another sleepless weekend for some of us. DenisO
Great to see the Camrose impasse has been resolved :)

Walddk
Are you ready for 48 h non stop, Roland ?? :D :) No, I have granted myself a little sleep: 4 segments of 30 minutes. All broadcasts are divided into segments, so why not my sleep? :D My intention is to sleep when they are showing dull 1NT and 2♣ contracts. However, I would obviously appreciate to get a wake up call if, unexpectedly, a "trump strip en passant" or a "hexagon (double guard) squeeze" comes up! hrothgar
Are you ready for 48 h non stop, Roland ??  No, I have granted myself a little sleep: 4 segments of 30 minutes. Going without sleep for 48 hours isn't a virtue. Its idiocy. On several occassions you've posted descriptions of these great sacrifices that your making in order to bring Vugraph to the masses. Don't get me wrong. I VERY much appreciate the work that you and the rest of the Vugraph operators are making. With this said and done, the whole Vugraph deal is starting to remind me of self-flagellation, where individuals demonstrate their devotion by whipping their backs until they bleed. This type of act isn't devotion or religion as I know it. Its usually self-aggrandizement. On rare occasions you meet a true masocist. (You can always separate the two based on the amount of attention that they draw to the "sacrifices" that they are making for others) Well designed systems don't have a single point of failure. They don't require that one specific individual be present in order for things to function. In all seriousness, if you've created such a system, you need to seriously think about delegating more responsibility and ensuring that the system is more than the presence of Walddk. That would be a real accomplishment

You are too naive if you really think that I would go 48 hours without sleeping. Maybe you forgot to notice the smiley. I am happy for all our enthusiastic viewers who have the opportunity to watch top quality bridge around the clock if they wish. An accomplishment I think everyone involved can and should be proud of. On several occassions you've posted descriptions of these great sacrifices that your making in order to bring Vugraph to the masses, you write. Have I? Where? I spend a lot of time on vugraph, yes, but where did I say that I make sacrifices? No one should feel sorry for me; I enjoy what I'm doing, and if I need help, Fred will be the first to know. So let me just finish by quoting Elton John: "It's no sacrifice at all". Roland P.S. I am not a vugraph operator. You should know better than most people because you have been one yourself. I am the coordinator and that is something completely different.
