I wouldn't consider any bid but 2 or 3. This hand is not strong enough to force game opposite what may not be a fit. While the 7th spade points towards 3, every other feature of this hand is negative. We have a bad heart holding, bad spade spots, a singleton king, and only 13 high. I would bid 3 on a hand like:

AQT9xxx

x

Kx

Axx

But on the given hand I think 2 is a much better call.

I like 3 at any form of scoring. 4 just takes partner out of the evaluation game and 2 is too pessimistic with 7 spades and AQ A K(albeit stiff).

This is amusing becuase I once said about MSC that when the panel votes for both non forcing bids and game bids, an invitational bid is probably right. Here we have adam (2S) and luis (4S), thus I'll try 3 as a combination of their wisdom :)

4S is my first choice. 3S is my second choice.

Considering some of the hands on which I would bid 2S, this hand is about 2 tricks stronger. That is why 2S cannot be the right choice.

3s first choice, 4s 2nd, 2s never.

in my book partner can bid 2s with only 2 so partner can easily have a stiff spade.

On a side note wich bid tend to show more strenght ? (trump support + cover card = strenght)

X or 2

2s can be pretty weak with 3 trumps.

X can be stiff but show sound values.
