awm
I wouldn't consider any bid but 2♠ or 3♠. This hand is not strong enough to force game opposite what may not be a fit. While the 7th spade points towards 3♠, every other feature of this hand is negative. We have a bad heart holding, bad spade spots, a singleton king, and only 13 high. I would bid 3♠ on a hand like: AQT9xxxxKxAxx But on the given hand I think 2♠ is a much better call.
whereagles
Obvious 3♠ bid. To bid 2♠ is to complicate what is simple.
mike777
At MP do you want to play in 2s or 3s or 4s across from: xx...xxx....AJTx....KTxx with more Partner can raise to 3S after 2S.
HeartA
I voted for 2♠.
luis
I think 4♠ is clear I have a huge hand now, the heart singleton and the values in the minors have been upgraded in my mind. Luis
pbleighton
3S first choice, 4S second choice. It would be closer at IMPs. I assume pd has a reasonable hand for his double of 2H. 2S bidders - what is the worst hand you think pd could have?Might your pd double on a quacky 8 count and a stiff spade? han
3 ♠ seems right at MPs, at IMPs I would likely bid 4♠.
Guest Jlall
I like 3 at any form of scoring. 4 just takes partner out of the evaluation game and 2 is too pessimistic with 7 spades and AQ A K(albeit stiff). This is amusing becuase I once said about MSC that when the panel votes for both non forcing bids and game bids, an invitational bid is probably right. Here we have adam (2S) and luis (4S), thus I'll try 3 as a combination of their wisdom :)
ArtK78
4S is my first choice. 3S is my second choice. Considering some of the hands on which I would bid 2S, this hand is about 2 tricks stronger. That is why 2S cannot be the right choice. benlessard
3s first choice, 4s 2nd, 2s never. in my book partner can bid 2s with only 2 so partner can easily have a stiff spade. On a side note wich bid tend to show more strenght ? (trump support + cover card = strenght) X or 2♠ 2s can be pretty weak with 3 trumps. X can be stiff ♠ but show sound values. Kalvan14
2♠ is horribly pessimistic.4♠ is likely the contract I will have to play; I'll bid 3♠ not to hang partner.
