Miron
[hv=s=sj108632hjdq1064c82]133|100|[/hv] 1♣ - p - 1♦ - 1♥p - ? What will be your bid?
luis
1♠, by Luis' rule 1♠ is never wrong, in any hand. So 1♠.
awm
Well, this hand is pretty bad, but it's easy to imagine spades playing multiple tricks better than hearts. I am not sure how this hand will take any tricks in 1♥! If I'm sure partner will take 2♠ as weak I'd bid that, but in my partnerships 2♠ is fit-showing, and if I'm not sure how partner will take it I wouldn't take the risk. 1♠ for me. han
I think that 1S is absolutely clear at MPs, but I would also bid it at IMPs.
pbleighton
1S. I would have bid 2S in the first round if not vulnerable. Peter

Miron
Are you not afraid that partner will think that you're bit stronger? What if he bids further (f.e. 2♥)?
han
If he bids 2H then I pass, wtp. If he raises spades then I'm happy. Partner won't play me for a strong hand, he knows that I have 5+ spades and didn't overcall last round. He may expect a few more HCP, but the hope is that we get to play in spades where we have compensating values.
luis
Are you not afraid that partner will think that you're bit stronger? What if he bids further (f.e. 2♥)? 1♠ never promises anything it barely promises some spades. Luis
pclayton
Conditions and vulnerability do matter here. I might have found a 2♠ call the previous round. I PASSED over 1♣. Initially, I thought I'd pass over 1♥ but how much worse can my hand be? I'd say this was a 'middlish' hand for a 1♠ call. I'll open up the discussion for those that pass and think that 1♠ now should show: Jxxxx, xx, AQx, Kxx.

Guest Jlall
I would have overcalled. Will bid 1S now for sure.
Free
I'm a true believer of Luis' rule :) I bid 1♠. Since I passed before, partner will know I don't have much so no danger of heavy jumping without values :P
adhoc3
1S. I would have bid 2S in the first round if not vulnerable. Peter Ditto. Since I passed before, and I will have no bid if pard rebid anything after 1H-1S, I will pass now. 2S here will be fit showing jump even without pre-agreement. If the bidding is not ending on 1H, maybe I can try 2S later. Regards, Jack
P_Marlowe
Hi, I will pass, assuming the vul.is green vs. red I would have bid2S the round before. Marlowe
Codo
To the bidders: How often do you gain with this auction- in finding a better part score- and how often do you get too high? What are your bids for a lot of hands with much more HCPS, you had not been able to bid with in the first round? Always a Cuebid? What about Kxxxx,xx,xxx, AQx? Pass, 1 NT? How often do you expect to hold a hand, which is too weak for a weak two but strong enough to introduce your suit now? As much as I would like to play spades with this hand, I had no sufficient answers for my questions, so I had passed and bid 1 Spade, after 1 Heart gets doubled around to me. HeartA
pass. It is not over yet. If 1H gets dbled and passed to me, I would bid 1S.
Echognome
I'm a 1♠ bidder as well. I would have overcalled 1♠ or 2♠ at MPs depending on who my partner was. Partner knows we aren't promising tolerance by bidding 1♠. Also I can't bid 2♠ as partner will likely take that to be a fit jump. If it goes P - 2♥ - P, then I will bid 2♠. My hand does not play well in any other denomination. On any other sequence (like opps bidding again) I will pass throughout.
