adhoc3
[hv=d=n&v=n&s=s987654hdkjt8765c]133|100|1C----pass----1D*---1Hpass--2NT*----???[/hv] Partner showed 16+ but seemed has no much more than that. Opps addressed their 2NT as limited raise or better. What would you bid? Do you have device for super weak but good shape hand after precision 1C opening? I was sitting west, had no chance to play our device: 1C----2S===S+minor, 55+, 5-hcp1C----2NT==both minors, 55+, 5-hcp1C----3C/D=C/D+H, 55+, 5-hcp
awm
It seems like a heart bid here should show a distributional hand like this. Other meanings (psych-revealing? stopper-ask?) don't seem to make a whole lot of sense. So I'll try 3♥ and then bid 4♠. Partner should get the message that I have a lot of shape (although perhaps not this much, a 6-5 hand would probably do it).
Free
I'd rather bid 3♦ followed by 4♠. 3♥ is imo not as extreme as this hand...
Finch
I would cue hearts. I'm mildly tempted by 4H.I assume the 1D response showed a negative, so I'm limited in HCP.
whereagles
6♦. Pard has some 15-18 balanced hand (otherwise he would have bid a suit). We won't be setting 4♥ and probably not even 5♥, but we sure stand a chance to make 6♦ if pard has the right cards.
Guest Jlall
I like the 4H suggestion. In reality I doubt I would think of it and would try 3H.
