pclayton
Had a funny thing happen to me at the Saddleback sectional on Friday. Your partner (an ex-National and World) champion picks up: [hv=d=s&v=n&s=sj9xxhkxxxdxxcakq]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] He opens 1♣ and I make an inverted raise. At this point he's just noticed that he's mis-sorted his hand :D B) and actually holds: [hv=d=s&v=n&s=sj9xxhkxxxdxxcakq]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv]. So he tries 2♠. I retreat to 3♣ which boxes my hand as a limit raise. Any ideas on how to dig yourself out of this mess?
pbleighton
I would pass, quite reluctantly. At IMPs I would bid 3S, showing my 6-5 :D Peter

Free
What about bidding 3♥ now? Can partner figure it out now?
pclayton
3♥ probably begets 3N. I held: Qx, xx, Axxx, Axxxx. Pard chose 3♠, ostensibly showing a 5-6. I got VERY excited and cued 4♦. He tried 4♥, I key carded and he PASSED B) . Happy to report -300 was our only real bad board. :) He could have passed 3♣ too. The 5-2 doesn't play too bad.
