Joker signs - how?

Fred I am sure you know bridgeFILES is offering many of the championsystems ready to use. The intensions are to enable all interested in taking advantage from the masters trying to walk their footsteps themselves.

In that respect your new FD has been very helpful and many systems have already been converted to that new great format.

My problem is that a new structure with 2 new card folders are difficult for me to handle. The one with individual names I cannot reach and the one I can reach don't load the files. I understand quite well why you have created that structure but regarding to automatic updates it is not well working. In old DOS I think I was able to reach all folders using this syntax: ??????~1. That seems no longer to work under Windows XP.

As I need to copy updates to the old convcards-folder your good solutions don't work here. Instead software works illogical. It works so that you need to load from the folder you cannot see. In folder you can see only resides files potential outdated which ought to be deleted.

I hope very much for your help Fred!

Yours Claus

A bit difficult to describe - but I try as I think it is important.

I can reach(update) this folder: "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\csdenmark convcards". Others cannot load FD card from that folder if I copy my content to them. I cannot reach folders with other persons ID unless I use joker-signs which I don't know the syntax for in Windows XP. Those worked under DOS seems no longer to work under XP.

I can reach(update) this folder: "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\default convcards". Cards copied to there don't load. Only those residing on your server loads.

I can reach(update) this folder: "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards". This folder is not displayed in FD. You need to choose the option looking for other cards. Cards residing in this folder loads and are aut. copied into your folder with your own ID. Very nice.

After update of the files I update "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards". The only folder I can reach and from which cards loads. Those files earlier copied to a persons individual folder(mine:csdenmark) when used are not the updated ones but might be outdated. Therefore I need to instruct users never to open from the folder you have created for ease of use but always to open via Looking for other convention cards.

Opening cards with FD content of these 2 folders are displayed: "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\default convcards" + C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\default convcards" The folder you need to open from: "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards" is not displayed. It will not be wise to open from the folder: "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\csdenmark convcards"

My personal problem I have solved via a bat-file updating my personal folder each time I log in to BBO with this:

cd "C:\Bridge Base Online"

copy "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\*.bss" "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\csdenmark convcards"

NetBridgeVu.exe

exit

I hope this helps. If you will be able to help me with a possible syntax for reaching individuals folders the problem is over.

3 other possible solution I could think of:

. Enable upload of all files residing in "C:\Bridge Base Online\convcards\default convcards"

. Option for costumization of folders displayed for loading

. Display 3 folders in FD incl. the old convcards folder
