IMPs, short match, NV

[hv=d=n&v=n&s=skha9xxxdqcqtxxxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv]

Pard opens 1, you bid 1, he tries 1.

Some system footnotes. You play XYZ, where (over 1):

a) 2 is a puppet to 2 to invite game

b ) 2 over 1 is an artificial game force

c) 2N over 1 is a transfer to 3 indicating less than an invite

d) A jump to 3 is a slam try and shows 2 good suits

You also play a 12-14 NT. The rebid of 1 does not deny a balanced 15-17, but it does deny a balanced 18-19.

Horrible misfit. I'm going to try 1NT. If partner can't do something interesting in hearts I don't want to put this hand into game. To invite in clubs would be an error I believe without a fit.

2clubs.

I hope we are playing the version of XYZ where partner must show 3hearts as a priority over the auto puppet to 2D. Assuming partner does bid 2D, denying 3hearts and denying a 6D and 5 spade hand I will now bid 3clubs. Assuming a Walsh style with all invite and less hands, partner may guess correctly and play us for exactly 4 Hearts and 6 clubs and an invite hand with alot of shape.

I understand the choice of 1NT and may choose that at MP.
