mikeh
Hi all I am tentatively working on a session for Sunday January 29 at 9 am PST. The idea is to have two established partnerships bid and play 6-8 hands, with all players invited to communicate to kibs what they are thinking during the bidding and play. Kibs will be able to chat amongst themselves but not to the players. We would then have a Q & A session, with the hands being reviewed. The hands would be random, to avoid any tendency for the players to try to identify the 'theme' or 'point' of the hand, and therefore bid or play in an unusual manner. The point of the exercise is to look over the shoulder of an expert, bearing in mind that all experts make mistakes: they just make a few fewer mistakes than others  So we are looking at trying to see what factors 4 different experts will be considering during a typical selection of random hands. The scoring will be in imps. I have asked one pair to be the opps and I will be playing with a friend of mine not currently on BBO, with whom I am developing a ppship. He is a former Canadian internationlst and a fine player. I will try to have a cc posted, but our methods are essentially strong 2/1, with variable notrumps and a bunch of gadgets grafted onto a 'standard' type system. MY hope is that this will be educational, my expectation is that our errors will be as instructive as the things we get right :P
