csdenmark
I intended this below for fav. VULN. Looks working for EW but not for NS. for EW,favorable this works:531N=NYYYYYY21-2seat(fav): 9-12HcP, Semi-balanced (5 MAJOR/Stiff honor OK) for NS favorable this comes instead:521N=NYYYYYY21-2seat(unfav): 13-16HcP, Semi-bal. (5 MAJOR/Stiff honor OK) What is the code for favorable VULN? I have this but thats not correct:

inquiry
I am not exactly sure where you are going with this question. If it is related to the vul bug in FD, get the new version. Otherwise, FD does not figure use directions... it use We and They. This is important, because when you fill out a FD card, you might then sit in either direction. So EW and NS are meaningless terms for FD. Instead phrase your question in terms of "we" and "they" The way the vul is set up is before you make your first "bid". Here is a simple case of opening 1C first seat, at the four vul..... *00=NYYYYYY011C=NYYYYYY008 1♣ opening no one vul021C=NYYYYYY008 1♣ opening we vul031C=NYYYYYY008 1♣ opening, they vul041C=NYYYYYY008 1♣ opening, all vul Clearly the second digit (1, 2, 3, and 4) is what is changing with vul. The 0 (first digit) refers to "any" dealer... For first or second seat, it might look like this for a diamond opening bid141D=NYYYYYY008we deal both vul231D=NYYYYYY008Tehy deal we vul Here, the "1" and "2" in the first column shows who deals and the position of the opening bid. 14 = first seat deals, and we open 1D, the 4 means both sides are vul. 5 and 6 in the first two columns refer to multiple options (1and2 or 3and4) type thing. I suspect the error you are making is that you left a "*" out of your line. 531N=YYY etc, means you open 1NT with a first or second seat bid, and they are vul and you are not vul... for what it is worth581N=YYY etc, means same thing, except you may or maynot be vul (they surely are). *531N=YYY etc, means they open 1NT and you are not vul. Here I think they open in the 1st or 2nd seat. Try not to think NS... think We and They... ben
csdenmark
Thank you Mickey and Ben. I did not know anything about a vuln. bug. I updated according the link Mickey provided and now it looks correct. Ben the line refer to Meckwell Club 1NT open. But I of course had the similar problem regarding defense for Gardner 1NT. But that also looks correct after this update. Thank you. It is a bit difficult for me to translate 'we' and 'they'. I am used to 'offensive' and 'defensive'.
