pclayton
Here's the 2nd: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=skqjxhat97xxdkjcx&s=s8xxhxdqtxcakj98x]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You play in 3N: 1♥ - 1N - 3♥ (!) - 3N. LHO leads the spade 6 which looks like from 4. You win in dummy. Now what?
cherdano
I don''t see any future in playing on hearts, opponents can always counter that. Even if they start off badly, say heart duck to RHO, club to Ace, spade to Q, heart ace and another with LHO winning, they are still on top by endplaying dummy with ♦A and another diamond. Club to the Jack looks best. The only legitimate chance is ♣Qxx onside, but they haven't found the heart switch yet. Arend
whereagles
Yup. Qxx onside isn't that much of a prayer. I've played far worse 3NTs than that
pclayton
Surely theres a better line than 18%........ Or maybe not.

Guest Jlall
I would just go after hearts. The opponents are going to play clubs anyways
pclayton
Clubs could be a great source of tricks, but only if they lie 3-3 with the Q onside. The Opponents can keep you out of your hand easily enough. At T2 I played A♥, low ♥ and found KJ tight on my left. But they found the ♦ shift (LHO actually pulled a canape lead on me holding ♠A9xx / ♦xxxxx). By the time I knocked out the 2nd heart and the A♠, they are able to establish their diamond winners. LHO actually held specifically: A9xx, KJ, xxxxx, Tx. I've played around with a few continuations, but I can't see a way to make it - even double dummy. You are free to try.
