andych
BBO is hot .... some world champions are also playing in BBO. Would BBO consider adding another symbol (in addition to the star symbol) for the world champions, who won the bermuda or bridge olympid before? The world champions I am aware of includes sillafu, fulvio2002, smispi...Not sure if jec, scotty have won the world champion before...Fred has not yet achived this and hope he would get there some day   By the way why not get paul soloway to BBO. Anyone knows if he is paid by OKB to play there? Probably the world champion symbol should also apply to winners of some major invitational events e.g. Cavendish/Macallan. Otherwise we only see USA and Italy with the world championship symbol ..  :) :)
Gerben42
Otherwise we only see USA and Italy with the world championship symbol .. I think the current system is sufficient. BTW, many other countries other than Italy and USA won World Championships too, you know!
Walddk
By the way why not get paul soloway to BBO Paul Soloway has been a BBO member for a long time and occasionally you can watch him and Bob Hamman practising bidding at the Partnership Table. It often happens before a major event, domestically as well as internationally. Roland
barmar
I suspect that Andy is suggesting that BBO try to get Paul to move his monthly "Goldway" matches from OKbridge to BBO.
Aberlour10
The World Champion titles are achived mostly inteam competitions. There are many absolute world class players (top 30 or 50) with rathersmall chances to win one of them, becausethe countries their represent have not enoughtop players to build a super strong team, so I thinkthe title alone is not mirroring the place in theworld bridge hierarchy. pigpenz
even the star system has it faults, but I could see where World Champion would be a nice symbol. Let give JLall a jr crown not a big one just a little jr one ;)

andych
Any way you look at it, with jec and his crew in BBO, there are too much diff between these players and the exisitng stars. Granting these players special symbol (if they are willing to) also let the general BBO members know better which tables to kibitz. The cirteria for granting special symbol may be difficult.
