eamongall
Good morning folks I was just wondering is it possible or will it be possible to import hands for partnership bidding. OR can we set say a West Hand with certain hand and deal the rest using constraints. Another thing I would like to be able to do is import hands for Team Matches like you can in a Create Tournament but not possible right now. Any ideas on the above 2 items anybody? ? ThanksEamon Galligan (eamongall)
inquiry
Hi...welcome to the Bridge Base Forums. You can do both...but both with a caveat. To use predealt hands in the bidding room, the table host has to click on the "movie button", load the hand(s) in question, and then click on the one you want and press "send". The caveat here is the dealer can get screwed up, so you may need to use the table software to modify who is dealilng, or add deals where north bids first only when it is norths turn to bid (board 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, etc), and souths when it is his turn to bid. Also for the fariest way, have a third party host the table and load the hands so neither partner can see the hands being used. For team games, you have about a 2 minute window after the last player accepts and before the match begins. The table host has to go the the team room (it will be on the bottom of the list of teams) and then click on the green table button. Once there, he will find an option to "Upload predealt hands for the tournament". Click that and load the hands. You have to be fast... .you have to scroll down to find your tournmant listing, you ahve to click on that line, click the table button, click upload, find the file on your computer and upload it. It can be done, but sometimes you will not be fast enough. Ben
mrdct
If you are using a LIN file from the Vugraph Archives to upload to a teams match on BBO, two important things: 1. You need to open the LIN file with a text editor and delete every second line so that there is only one copy of each hand. Otherwise board 2 will be the same as board 1, board 4 same as board 3, etc. 2. When you set up the teams match, tell one player to not click "accept" until you tell him to. This will buy you the 30 seconds or so you need to load the hands. The problem is that the moment the 8th player accepts a match invite, the match will start immediately before you've had a chance to load the hands. Cascade
Also for the fariest way, have a third party host the table and load the hands so neither partner can see the hands being used. In practice I find I can load hands without any significant knowledge of the hands. It is easy to get in the habit of clicking on the next hand and clicking send without looking at the hand that has been loaded.
