Walddk
Excuse me for replying although no-one is supposed to, but it amazes me why (North) Americans think it's enough to tell the readers what time the lesson is on in New York (it's actually EDT now, not EST). How difficult can it be to to look it up if you are not familiar with time zones? jillybean2 did it in the beginning and got it wrong (GMT is not the same as London in the summer, so 2:30 pm EDT is 18:30 GMT), and now she stopped too. Maybe just as well if you get it wrong. Here is a useful tool for you: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ It's ridiculously easy and certainly a service the members deserve. yoder
I stand corrected. The tourney will be at 1 in the afternoon New York City time, which is in fact US EDT now. I trust everyone is capable of converting that to their own time zone. Thanks for the link, Walddk.
hoki
Time : Thursday 1630 EST (2130 GMT, 0830 NZT - Fri) A six-board pairs (IMP scoring) tournament will be followed by a review of all six boards. This is for novice/intermediate players only, being a transfer from the BIL. TD/tutor: hoki (Oliver Hoffmann, hoki@orcon.net.nz) This session will be held weekly and emails will be sent in weeks when it will have to be cancelled due to non-availability of the tutor. ;) Oliver
hoki
Correction: According to Roland, my tourney is at 1630 EDT. But if D = daylight savings timeand S = summer time (which is the same),what does the Eastern US use for winter time? Why doesn't *everyone* use GMT? After all, that is theworld's standard time. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY HERE. If you like you can email me athoki@orcon.net.nz . Thanks. ;) Oliver
