If pd has 6 H and 5 m, we might belong to 4H. If pd has 6 m and 5 H, we might belong to 5m. If pd 5-5 and minor is D, we might belong some level of D, but 5-5 and C, we might belong to 4C only (or dbl if opps bid on). So, ....... I dbled, trying to ask pd where we should land on. The one general rule that nearly everybody plays is that when partner has pre-empted, double is penalties (and a Michaels cue-bid is usually considered to be a pre-empt).
