mike777
3d cue first to let p know I got something. Bid suits with less hcp and shape.
adhoc3
2H, there're 25 minor cards outside, this won't be passout. I'll bid 3S later. To the worst, the bidding goes to 5D when back to me again, I'll bid 5H (insane maybe:P). Heart suit almost stands alone, I'll compet with this. I prefer H much more than S, and dont want pd choose S when he has: Kx x xxxxx xxxxx, or Jxx xx xxxx xxxx. Need very few to make a slam but it seems no way to get to know. Kalvan14
3♦ is what I choose: LHO passes, and pard bids 3♥
mike777
3♦ is what I choose: LHO passes, and pard bids 3♥ 3s but may miss slam.length before shortness, common theme. My goal is describe 70% of my hands, hopefully this bid equals 70%.
joker_gib
I would have bid 3♠ and after the double I'm happy if I have a game. I prefer to describe my hand than a nebulous 3♦. Alain
coyot
3♠, forcing to 4♥ sounds like a plan. Partner will get the idea of 11 major cards in my hand and will bid slam with spade king, game with any minor wastage.(Without the spade king or diamond ace AND spade jack, the slam is next to impossible)

Kalvan14
I bid 4♥ (after the double there are not a lot of chances to play in spades - and in any case pard has shown a tolerance for hearts). 1 down, with pard holding xxx, Qx, xxx, QJTxx. Quite a reasonable contract, which goes down just because LHO hold KJTx in spades. Out of a 25-tables SWISS, 20 results were 4♥-1; 4 optimists were in 6♥-3; 1 pessimist was in 3♥=. It goes withjout saying that the pessimist was playing against us :lol:6 IMPs down the drain instead of gaining 10 :(
mr1303
I don't understand that bit: how does partner's pass over 1H (X) show a tolerance for hearts? 0 counts with no tolerance for partner also pass 1H (X). Holding: 5432void654325432 I'm still going to pass 1H (X)
inquiry
2♠... seems enough. This has to show a huge major two suiter, with five spades and six or more hearts. 3♠ seems too much of an overbid despite the great hand you hold given the auction so far. If partner "corrects" to 3♥ only, I will pass. Of course, I would not be in this situation with my regular partners as I would open with a misIry 2NT planning on showing this hand with my next bid. Possible auctions... 2NT-[P]-3C-[P]-3S (three loser, major two suiter)2NT-[P]-4C-[P]-4H (three or four loser, major two suiter)2NT-[3D]-P-[P]-3S (heart, spade two suiter, three losers)2NT-[X]-P-[3C]-3H (heart, spade two suiter, now 3 loser, dbl 3C with 4 loser)2NT-[x]-P-[P]-3H (heart, spade two suiter, now 3 loser, redbl 2NT with 4 loser)2NT-[3D]-P-[P]-3S (heart spade two suiter, dbl would be H-D two suiter)2NT-[3D]-P-[4D]-4H (heart spade two suiter, 3 loser. Dbl would be H/S 4 loser)2NT-[3S]-P-[P]-DBL (heart spade two suiter)2NT-[4D]-P-[P]-4H (heart, spade two suiter, 3 or 4 losers)
