How to get to the grand playing your system?

I also hate the 3D bid.

I don't play exclusion.

I also play fairly strict ace cue-bidding before king (other than in partner's suit).

This is another hand where you don't need complicated agreements about exclusion, as long as you have some way of distinguishing your responses to GSF.

1 1

3 3

4 4

5NT 6

7

6 = 1 top honour out of 3

(p.s. if you playing Acol 2s, you can open it 2D)

Without any methods at all it's a bit tougher, but after 4 hearts, you could continue...

4 5

6

and responder might get the message that the ace of diamonds is a good card.

Although i use relay methods, I prefer to use 4Nt opening for extreme minor 2 suiters with 3 or fewer losers....

so 4NT 5H (at least 2 covers naming the Major A and 1 cover guranteed working)

7C 7D

...not hard but could have been wrong eg opener has doubleton S small and now we are committed to 6minor opposite same hand with blueprint for defence....win some (or is that winsome?) lose some...

Strange hand for it, but this would be my auction, with my system:

2D (14-16 HCP, at least 9 cards in the minors, (5-4/4-5)+

3NT (to play, expecting few fireworks)

4S (odd, but Exclusion BW)

5D (two)

6S (pick the minor)

7D

1  1

3  3

4  5

7

4 is exclusion keycard: there is no response that you cannot handle, so there is no need to delay matters further. You get the magic 2 keycard response and 7 has to be reasonable.

This is the sequence in my mind. Or if 3D is week, then 4D-4S and same after that.

with relay this goes

1c : 1nt (9+, balanced)

2c : 2h (asking : 44(32))

2s : 3c (4=4=3=2)

3d : 3nt (cab : 4 controls)

4c : 4d (scan : nada in spades)

7d

if he has 4 controls, they have to be the red aces

Depending on your methods when scanning for controls this is a lucky hand for relay. The four controls could be A and K and K. You might not be able to distinguish.

I wouldn't be able to tell that hand from A A Q in my normal relay partnership.

We would show four controls and then honour in spades, hearts and diamonds with both hands.

With the actual hand we deny in spades and the four controls can be easily read for the two Aces.
