Unable to watch Chinese vugraph

ack_hh

Recommended Posts

BBO client version 4.5.4, OS = W98

When I try to watch a chinese vugraph session, the client

aborts with a IPF in KERNEL32 immediately after entering

the room (players' names get displayed, but no hands).

Could it have something to do with the "strange" characters

used for the session name and the players' names?

If you ever see this sort of thing happen, please make a note of the whatever details are provided by the error message (you may have to click the "details" button in order to access the information I need). These details may look like meaningless code to you, but they will allow me to find the exact line of program code that caused the error. From there it is usually trivial to fix the problem.

I learned how to do this a few months ago and, since that time, I have been able to eliminate a lot of problems that could cause BBO to crash.

It would not surprise me if the "strange characters" (which are actually Chinese characters - they would appear as such if you set your BBO language to Chinese and had Chinese fonts installed on your PC) were the source of the problem. We have seen cases before where some PCs (like yours) have problems in certain places while others (like Ben's) do not.

Then again, it could be something completely unrelated. Really no way of knowing unless I have the details of the error message.
