West leads the ♥K. How do you plan to make your contract? Side Note: Par Play Problem 2 (see BPO forum) just involved a club guess in 3♠X. Everyone got it right, so I'm not going to post it as a separate problem.
Guest Jlall
I blanked on this one, I definitely should have gotten it. My actual line was ruff, CA, CK pitching a DIAMOND, and leading a club, ruffing with the ten. Assuming trumps don't go 4-0 I'm cold if RHO has the doubleton club (spade to king, run clubs until they ruff in) or the spade jack, or 2 spades, or the DK. As it was my line was inferior to the best line if LHO has Jxx of spades, the DK and the doubleton club. Since it was a par contest that was of course the actual lie :)
Fluffy
Did anyone get the winning line?, it didn't cross my mind actually

Finch
I don't know what the official winning line is, but discaring a diamond at trick 1 seems quite cute. I'll look very very silly if RHO has the HA, however.

Finch
I was just trying to be clever without thinking too hard....Yes, I suppose I then need (2-2 spades + 3-2 clubs) or (diamond hook). Maybe I should actually think about the play.
mikeh
How's this? Ruff with the 7. Cash AK♣, pitching a ♥. Ruff a ♣ with the Ace of trump. Cross to the trump K and lead a good ♣, pitching your last ♥. Doubt that I'd have found it at the table... took me too long So long as trump are no worse than 3-1 and ♣ 3-2, seems to work

Double !
I knew that I recognized this hand as soon as I saw it but couldn't remember exactly where. I then found it tonight. (Can't bid, play, or defend worth much, but I remember bridge hands, lol) See page 97 of Reese's Master Play. (Can't bid, play, or defend worth much, but I remember bridge hands, lol) See page 97 of Reese's Master Play. DHL(Happiness and peace to all) Funny enough this Reese Master Play involves a basic lesson for us newer players, set up side suit before pulling trumps. Granted we would not be able to visualize exactly why, which is why we are only improving players, but hopefully just blindly following a rule we would find the correct pitches and make the hand by default rather than inspiration. Btw, Reese switches 2 cards of the opponents and makes this a really top class defensive problem.
