There's no way to involve partner in this decision (unless you feel like making a straight invite).
Winstonm
3C: Ace asking. :P Seriously, though, pass. This is an application of the 30-point deck. Partner's hand is 12-14 outside of clubs. The opponents hold 16-18 outside of clubs. No matter what, we are outgunned either 12-18 or 14-16. Our side pretty much is forced to hold AAA or AK, A to overcome this disparity. IMO, one should never make a bid that for it to be right requires partner to hold precise cards - wasn't it Hamman who said, "Whatever card you are looking for I haven't got it."? In this hand, just make that cards. Notice with a 15-17 NT that the divisions are: 15-15 and 17-13. At worst we hold equal strength outside of clubs and at best have a decided advantage. (Not a judgement on which is better, only the reason for the automatic 3N when playing strong NTs.) Winston
awm
There are a lot of hands for partner that make 3nt excellent: AKxxAxxxxxxxx KQxxxxxxAKxJx AKxxxxxAQxxxx These are not super-max hands or anything like that, they just involve a fair number of quick tricks. Ideal might be a "club invite" which would convince partner to bid game holding fast tricks and a club fit, and deter game with two small clubs and/or slow values. Lacking this, we are vulnerable and it is imps, and I will try 3nt.
MickyB
2♠ would probably have showed 6 clubs, but partner wouldn't show a good hand for clubs without a top honour to solidify our suit!
Double !
Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead. 3NT: hopefully I have 6 tricks, can I play P for 3? DHL :P
Chamaco
3NT, I have never liked the expression "WTP ?", but if I ever had to use it, I'd adopt it now ! :P
HeartA
3NT, WTP? :P
Guest Jlall
I would bid 3N even at MP. Vul at imps I couldn't dream of doing anything else. They don't always make the best lead, and they usually have to on a deal like this (if there is one...we may just be cold).

pclayton
3N. Good hand for a simulation
Winstonm
3N. Good hand for a simulationI agree. I would be interested in the odds of this 3N coming home as I may be totally of base in my thinking. Not that it would change my mind, of course. I'm sure the numbers can be skewed to show 3N is always right. Winston
han
I would bid 3NT and I don't think that this is that suitable for a simulation. Or rather, the outcome won't tell us that much, 3NT will make far more often in practice than double-dummy.

Kalvan14
3NT. There are a lot of hands that make in any case, and defense might help too
