customize sound

Recommended Posts

I would like if it were possible to make a separate sound signal for my turn to bid, instead of having a combined sound for my turn to play and my turn to bid.

In a tournament, while waiting for the next hand or while being dummy I sometimes do other things at my computer, and then it is nice with the ring to remind me to come back and play. But it is annoying when playing, where I usually try to be present and concentrated, to have it ringing all the time.

So please..... :)

Look under your Bridge Base Online directory on your computer. You will find a bunch of WAV files named things like Shuffle.wav and the like. You can replace the wav file with one of your own. However, "myturn.wav" appears to cover both bid and play, so while you can change the sound, I think it changes for both.

Yes, that is what is the problem. The sound itself is okay, but I would like to be able to turn off the sound signal for "my turn to play" while still having a sound signal for "my turn to bid".

But thanks for the answer anyway. :)

Sorry - currently there is no way to do this.

Eventually we will improve the way that BBO

deals with sound effects but this is not exactly

near the top of our list of priorities.

Here is a work around idea...

Change the sound associated with CARDS SHUFFLING to the "GAME START" (move the shuffle.wav to another directory, and make a copy of "GAMESTART.WAV" and rename it as shuffle.wav.

Then when one hand is over, you will hear the new shuffle wav file as a new hand is dealt (the shuffle sound is too easy to miss). As an alternative find some other, longer, louder wav file and name it shuffle.wav. It will not alert you to it being your bid, but the sound will attract your attention so you will know that a new hand has been dealt.
