mikeh Posted December 9, 2005 Report Share Posted December 9, 2005 For me this would be an absolute minimum for the sequence and I would probably have contented myself with 2♠ after the cuebid... and this hand would be, for me, an absolute maximum for that sequence. Bear in mind that I would play the cue followed by 3♠ as not forcing, but I would need the worst 1♠ bid imaginable to pass on that sequence (xxxx xxx xxx xxx). I have a good hand in context: better trump than promised, short ♥ and the potentially useful ♣J. This is good enough that I would raise 2♠ to 3 and would obviously raise 3 to game: so I expect to reach game no matter what Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mike777 Posted December 9, 2005 Report Share Posted December 9, 2005 This is good stuff. So tell me, did partner then slightly overbid his hand? <!-- ONEHAND begin --><table border='1'> <tr> <td> <table> <tr> <td> Dealer: </td> <td> ????? </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Vul: </td> <td> ???? </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Scoring: </td> <td> Unknown </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td> <table> <tr> <th> <span class='spades'> ♠ </span> </th> <td> AK432 </td> </tr> <tr> <th> <span class='hearts'> ♥ </span> </th> <td> AQ94 </td> </tr> <tr> <th> <span class='diamonds'> ♦ </span> </th> <td> 3 </td> </tr> <tr> <th> <span class='clubs'> ♣ </span> </th> <td> KQ3 </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </table><!-- ONEHAND end --> oh ya partner cannot have this little. This bidding must show exactly 24.31415926 total points no matter how irrational many may think this number is. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
P_Marlowe Posted December 9, 2005 Report Share Posted December 9, 2005 This is good stuff. So tell me, did partner then slightly overbid his hand? Dealer: ????? Vul: ???? Scoring: Unknown ♠ AK432 ♥ AQ94 ♦ 3 ♣ KQ3 Hi, why not bid 3S over 2C. 3S shows this hand, you need next to nothing to make 4S, and 3S tells this.If you believe, that the hand is strongerbid 4S or 4D, assuming that 4D is a splinter agreeing spades. The cue bidding is just pointless noise. You need magic cards, to make the slam playable and no wastage in diamonds. With kind regardsMarlowe Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
