Strong rules...

It was playing in a Tournament.

Co-TD was xxxxx. We were playing on the 23 table (of 24),

all players from POLAND.

I was a dummy and was talking in polish to the table.

All players understood it. Nothing want to call the TD.

TD came and...

I was removed from the tournament because of talking.

Sorry, but WHY?

I'm a TD too and think, that all players have more fun,

when can chatting (not cheating!).

A lot of directors put in Tourney description to only use English at the table, but this seems to have been taken too far.

I was directing once and randomly checking tables that hadn't finished the round. First thing I see is 2 players speaking Polish at the table, I was about to reprimand them for not abiding by my rules then checked and saw all 4 were Polish. I then said to them I was about to say something about the language and the reason why I didn't, and added next round please use English as you are unlikely to be playing against 2 Polish players. They agreed and said they wouldn't have done it anyway.

What it comes down to is being sensible about your rules and how you apply them.

Fine, but evidently this TD doesn't agree, and it's their tournament so they get to make the rules.

Having said that, I'm amazed that a TD would remove a player for chatting without giving a warning first.

Thing is, if you make it a policy that everyone has to pay an amount in order to run a free tournament, the net result is that all the free TDs give up.

The pay tournaments have to pay an amount to BBO, but I don't believe the tournament mentioned is one of them

By the way, you shouldn't name specific names on BBO forums. It's against site policy.
