Echognome
[hv=d=s&v=n&s=saqj9xhxdktxcajxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP1♠ - (P) - 1NT - (2♥)X - (3♥) - X - (P)?[/hv] You are playing with an unfamiliar but expert partner. You are playing 4 card majors and a strong NT. You do not have many agreements. The 1NT by partner was non-forcing. You decide to venture a takeout double after 2♥ and partner doubles 3♥. What now? luke warm
pass cause i don't know what to do... oh, and cause it's for penalty
mikeh
Assuming that we had the (useful) agreement that double of 2♥ was takeout (and he should know it is given the 3♥ raise), even thinking is an overbid here. This is an opening lead problem I think. I'm leading a trump: they don't have many winners outside of trump so I want to cut down ruffs in dummy. 2nd choice (and maybe it ought to be my first) ♠A If he took my double as something other than takeout, well, we will soon have another agreement fixed
mike777
Expect partner to have something like:xx=xxx=AJxx=Kxxx at worst.
Fluffy
Not familair with the sytem, but I would take double as take out. I would bid 4♠
bearmum
Trust Partner and PASS -- his X is penalty
joker_gib
I already told my story with my first dbl so I pass Alain
han
Agree that bridge logic demands the second double to be penalty, so pass.

kenrexford
Actually, I would not pass. I would also double. This should go down a number, so I want it doubled twice.
MickyB
Isn't that what redouble is for?
pclayton
My first double was takeout. I have about a King extra. Pard is suggesting (not demanding) we play 3♥ x'd. Is there anything about my hand that I don't like for defense? Is there any other offense I haven't show? Easy pass.
Kalvan14
I would interpret the double as for penalty. There is no reason to lob back my request to bid.I have decent defensive values, and pard should have hearts. Lead is ♥
Trpltrbl
I pass, my pd's double is penalty. GBB
