kgr
[hv=d=w&v=n&s=satxxxhdxckqt9xxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv]Bidding starting with LHO goes:(1D)-1H-(1NT)-?What is your bidding plan? This is what your partner will think about your bids:2C: Change of suit. You haved good clubs and are not broke, but it is not forcing2D: mixed raise. Either support for H and a limt hand, or a hand too strong to bid something else.2S: Change of suit. You haved good clubs and are not broke, but it is not forcing...or do you want to bid something else.BTW: you did not really discuss what a jump bid means here. Probably your partner will take a 3C bid as a good club suit and support for H

kgr
None of the above: 2NT Not sure your partner (me) would understand that.It should logically show 5-5 S/C?
WrecksVee
How light do you overcall? If you are agressive partner has 8+ HCP at the one level. If that is the case a NF 2♣ seems right to me. I expect I will get to bid ♠ if I want to on the next round as the HCP seem evenly divided (17-23 at worse). Even if you overcall more soundly 2♣ still seems right to me. Aside: I know at least one expert that plays 2NT here as a cue bid showing 4+ card ♥ support. The 2♦ cue bid is reserved for 3 card ♥ support. In this competitive auction it is unclear to me what 2NT means. I do not have an agreement on this in my most regular partnership. Guest Jlall
2C. The bidding will not die. You can bid the appropriate number of spades next. With this hand type I think it is very often right just to bid out your shape, expecially when you have clubs and spades.
kgr
This kand did lead to a negative swing. My partner did choose to bid 2S becuase he thought that ♠ are more important then ♣. 2♠-1. I had J-Kxxxx-Axx-JxxAt the other table the opps did bid the 4♣X and did make +1. han
Easy 2C bid, it is very unlikely that I don't get a chance to show spades next.
Al_U_Card
2C seems clear, as its a good place to play (should that happen) pard will know what to lead against NT and you will keep your S entry intact etc. If pard has more, whether he passes or not, if you choose to bid S (reasonable) then he will know where to place the contract. Kalvan14
2C, without hesitation. The bid will not die here, and you'll be able to bid yr spades
Fluffy
This hand will poorly play in ♠ if partner doesn't have 4. And 1♥ tends to deny that holding. I would bid 2 or 3♣
