whereagles
I'm bidding 4♥ because if I bid 4♣, it might be taken as 4 hearts and 5 clubs.
Guest Jlall
I would bid 4C. I'm mainly worried about finding a playable strain, and partner can still have a stiff heart. If they X loud enough I can still run back to hearts.

Bidding continues:(3♦)-3NT-(DBL)-2nd?Partner did show 18+hand with stoppers in ♠ and ♦. Do you pass or bid 4♣? I agree with 2H the first time. You must pull the 3NT x and I would tend to show the 4 card Club suit at this point. Partner probably has 18-19, too much to overcall 1NT. You are simply looking for the best fit because 3NT does not look appetizing with your 3 HCP :)
Al_U_Card
For me, all white, this hand has the absolute minimum that the "free" bid of 2H promises (decent shape makes up for the paucity of hcp). That being said, if pard expects me to make that bid with 6-7 hcp I would pass initially. If he "knows" that I can have this hand then I will pass 3NT with apologies in hand. mila85
1. I don't agree with 2♥. The reason is here.2. redbl.
Kalvan14
I agree with the 2♥ bid: not many points, but good shape and 5 hearts.I cannot leave 3NX: 4♣ is probably the best (even if I agree that it looks like 4♥ only). OTOH, pard is strong (at least 18-19 HCP), and might be short in ♥

He did not have the shape for an immediate 1NT overcall and upgraded his hand to 18HP. West did lead a ♦ against 4 Clubs and I did make +1.
