How many friends?

Just curious, how many friends do you guys have marked on your BBO list? I counted once and it was over 200, I'm thinking that kind of defeats the purpose of even having a friends list :)

I have very few :) I rarely actually play on BBO (do a lot of kibitizing) and am lazy about adding names... I should do something about that, but I doubt I'd ever get over say 30 or so.

You are indeed a very very RICH MAN!

The friends you make at your age will last you a lifetime, treasury them.

Well most of them aren't actually "friends" just people who are usually up for team games and are competent, partners, people to kibitz, friends of friends, etc.

I was surprised when I counted them out. I have 130 on my list which is comprised of:

People I know personally

People I know from online (usually forum) that I play with

People I know from online that I like to play with as opps or teammates

Stars and Famours players I like to kib

x

Maybe Justin brings up a point that it would be nice to have different "types" of friends. Don't know how much extra programming it would be or whether it would be on anyone's priority list, but I imagine it would be nice.

wow, 109, thought it was a lot less. But there are a lot of people who I just like to kibitz, not all of them are real friends. That's why I'd like another color for 'people I want to kibitz', but that idea has been blown off in the past. :D

In what sense is 57 enemies too much. In principle 1 is too much but that's just not the way it works.

For me it just means "people I do not want to play with for various reasons".

These reasons might be:

"expert in profile but clueless"

"rude"

"quits after bad score"

"harasses partner"

etc. etc. etc.

My guess is that there are more than ten times 57 of those, I just haven't met them yet.

Five that I've met in real life.

Six regular partners.

A bunch of less regular partners (some fifty I would guess).

A similar number of opps and TDs whom I found particularely nice behaving.

Some twenty-five regular forum posters.

A handfull of enemies, all players who shouted at their partners.

Player notes are mainly for fake experts. I don't mark them as enemies.

I have 170 names on my friends list. Mainly people I know, a few people I like to kibbitz. Some are multiples (different handles).

I have 13 on my enemy list, but that number changes daily. It consists of people that I think drive people away from my table (either through rudeness or ineptitude, but usually if the second, they claim to be expert). Also of people that talk a lot at tables I kibbitz, because this is the easy way to shut them up. And lastly, people that are completely wrong in their post mortems, and subject me to listening to their idiocity.

Usually after they've been on my list for a few weeks or a month (depending on how much they piss me off) I'll take them off my list, and leave a note in their profile, to see if they've stopped pissing me off.

I dont like my screen full of black color so i put in enemy only those who really push it.

There was a very old bug you'll get if you hit too many friends. Whatever that was I hit that. I think 128+ or so. (years ago).

Can now adjust friends/enemies/everyone's colours, so change enemies to a colour you enjoy and make them all enemies? :>

I only use BBO Vugraph so my list is a bit shorter.

1 friend (my husband)

0 enemies

Roland would be a friend as well, except that he's always logged on, and he's always at the top of the list anyway.

I love the friends/enemies lists. The best thing is that you can see when you first log-on, the friends that are online, so that if you want to play a tourney you can invite someone fast. You see who is there if you want to chat. And the enemies are clubbed at the tourney table, so you can watch out for their antics.

And you are notified when a friend comes on line!

Like most of you all, my friends list is mostly people I like to play bridge with, but if they were not nice also, they would not be on the list. So a kind of friend :)

I think the friend/enemies feature combined with the notes on profile feature are the best additions BBO ever made.

When I started BBO was way smaller, I had 10-15 friends and also everyone I foudn from Spain.

When that list grew insanelly big I started to delete those spannish guys (who I mostly had as friends to be able to dodge them out, not liking to mark as enemies :)).

Nowadays with real friends, forum members, people with whoom you can play a good team match I should have 20-30 online everytime I connect and 200 total (many don't connect even once a month)
