What is your bidding plan to get to 7NT and the top spot in the safest manner? Our bidding method is in hidden text below...Enjoy. -S---------W-----N---------E1 ♦--------P-----1 ♥--------P3 ♦--------P-----4 NT-------P5 ♦*-------P-----5 ♠**-----P5 NT***--P-----7NT *----(0 or 3 Aces for ♦)**---(Q ask for ♦)***--(Q ♦ or extra length = positive reply, no outside K)
luke warm
assume using your own methods 1c : 1nt (saf : 8+, diamond single or diamond 2 suited)2c : 3h (tell me more : diamonds single suited, 5 controls)7nt but to be honest 7d is in the picture
Mr. Dodgy
1♦-4♣*-4♦-4N-5♠**-5NT-6♠-7N *Splinter**2 ♦ Keys + ♦Q OK, other way 'round: 1♦-2N!*-3♦-3♥-3N-4♦!**-4♠!***-7N**** *GF+**RKCB***0/3 ♦ Keys (must be 3 - ♦AK ♥A - else my p doesn't have enough points to open)****I can see 13 tricks: 6 ♦, 3 ♥, 2 ♣ and 2 ♠ re-edit - oops...something made me think that ♦xxx was ♦Qxx, now I dunno. seems like 7N is off if opps hold ♦Q third. Not likely, but unpleasant. 1♦-2N!-3♦-3♥-4♦-4N-5♦-7N? Edited October 30, 2005 by Mr. Dodgy
TheoKole
My apologies, I placed the hands as we were seated. South is the top hand and North is the bottom hand. Theo

mike777
excellent hand for beginner players, if you get to 7nt you are int level, if not go back one square.

Kalvan14
My auction was the exact same as the one that occured at the table. Good ole natural bidding. Mine also except that poor me doesn't think a 7th ♦ is worth the extra lenght :). A 7th ♦, and good intermediates, should be fine for me.Good natural bidding, but you should be able to count 13 tricks and bid 7N.I would have bid 2♣, instead of 1♥, but it is a matter of style.
