whereagles
Thx all. This was the full hand: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=s9xhdqtxxxcaqj9xx&w=s8xxxhkq9xdxxxctx&e=saqht8xxdjxxckxxx&s=skjtxxhajxxxdakcx]399|300|Scoring: MPNorth South3♣ 3♠4♦ 4♥4♠ pass (all bids natural) Diamond led.Result: 11 tricks, NS +450.[/hv]I was directing the event. West asked South what 4♦ meant, and was answered "control bid". He led a diamond, and, having seen dummy, summoned me complaining North had no control in diamonds. Upon inquiry, I found out that NS had actually no agreement as to what 4♦ meant. I ruled misinformation. In my country that doesn't lead to adjustment unless there is damage. West swore he would lead a club, had he knew 4♦ was natural. He said it was an "obvious lead, to kill dummy". Well, I didn't find that obvious at all, and asked a couple of players (none led a club), so I ruled result stands. West didn't appeal, but later on kept on nagging me about how leading a club was obvious. I told him at best only 10% of the people would lead a club. Apparently, I was right
