BBO 4.5.0

I've just dowloaded and installed the bbo 4.5.0 / FD 1.1.6 update.

But when I click on 'Conv' button...all I get is the 'old' convention card window. Poked around in 'options' and whatnot...found nothing FD-like anywhere.

I don't get it.

When I first downloaded 4.5.0, the conv feature DID appear to be more or less functional.

But, in last few hours, it shows ONLY the old cc.

Please advise.

I'm trying to deal with the Err=3001 situation as I work on making BBO work under standard wine. I see several references to 4.5 Beta but no specific information as to how to find new available betas. Occasionally in the past I see fred's message "New Beta available" with a specific link but nothing recent for the 4.x series.

I'm getting the feeling the cloaking of new versions is deliberate. Am I missing something? How do I get in the loop?

We almost never cloak betas except for the small gap between when FG has a dangerous beta ready and when the beta is ready for release to forums.

We have a version of bbo that will run in std WINE in linux.

See this thread

http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=3152

Summary: install latest windows beta in linux, then install a linux specific version of netbridgevu.exe over it ( netbridgeblahblah is the bbo client)

Questions here or to gerardo@ ( I know very little about this aspect of linux) or to uday@

About the Err=3001

When client detects a disconnection, it tries to reconnect. Server blocks the reconnection (older clients, including the current production client) have an issue that might manifest during a reconnection.

The FD beta and the linux counterpart don't have this problem, since the underlying bug has been fixed, and the server will allow the reconnection
