Echognome
You play in a heart partial after partner tries for game and finds out that you have no fit and no good suits to run in NT. You are in the correct spot, the question is simply how to play the trumps. Dummy:♥ 9 Declarer:♥ QJ76543 When you play a small heart from dummy, East plays the 8. Guest Jlall
If east had HT8, we can assume he would cover. If he had H8x he would play low. This leaves AK8, T8x, T8, K8, and A8 as relevant holdings. In all of these situations its ok to play the queen. If this loses to an honor, we must guess whether or not to play the J or low. Since low loses only to an original T8, I think that is best. So my answer is low to the queen, then small from my hand, winning against AK8, K8, Q8, T8x. Echognome
I know it wasn't a hard one, but I asked my housemate who is a BIL and he got it wrong, so I thought it was worth posting.
HeartA
Q or J and small from hand next round. I bet RHO had A8 or K8 doubleton or AK8.
