Error 3001

Recommended Posts

Hi,

For a couple of weeks now I've been getting above mentioned error. It pops up just after the window saying 'Logging. Please wait', so after connection is just established (or being negotiated). As I have been invoking BBO from linux (via cedega 432) my first thought was that the wrapper messed up after a month or so of flawless work.

I checked however other windows-cedega-invoked apps and they were fine, As the next shot I reinstall whole linux, sadly to no avail. For last week it hapened that BBO loaded correctly again most of times but on the other hand the same happened 2-3 times to my windows-based BBO.

All of this seems to indicate that the issue relates to BBO server. Anyway, can I do anything from my end, please and if not, is there any chance it would become stable again ?

Best regards and big Thank You for your wonderful site

Maciek

PS All possible local issues were checked, I believe so it doesn't concern my internet connection or some hardware malfunction

Server uses a pc-generated number (window handle) to guess at whether the pc is logging in again from the same session. Appears that wine reuses these #s more rapidly than you'd expect. So exiting and restarting bbo will not get past this problem.

Fix : use a beta version ( I have one lying around somewhere and I will post it sometime today) that doesnt have the bug that the server is worried about.

Hi,

Big thanks Gerardo and Uday for such a quick replies. I made a couple checks more and it seems that as you suggested the issue is in my court :

1) win-based BBO from the same machine runs like a charm

2) deleted and reinstalled cedega and bbo via cedega - still error 3001

3) bbstatus.log says Normal_Shutdown

4) dbok shows 1 which to me means failure as db file is almost empty (1.5k) while correct one is around 2.5MB

As at that point I am pretty stuck, I am looking forward to the beta, Uday mentioned

Thanks )

There is no "correct size" for the file db and the existence of dbok is a good sign.
